I turned the mic on myself and it got weird ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Before this weekend's Production Oracle reaches your inbox, let's check in with some things that will help you win in your business before you peace out on Friday.

Hey Reader,

Season 3 of School of Moxie just dropped... all 10 episodes at once, Netflix-style, no waiting around.

And I opened it by doing something I've never made a guest do without doing it myself first: I turned the mic on me. Same 17 questions everyone else answers this season. No guest to hide behind. Just me, admitting out loud what I actually pay for health insurance every month, the six years it took to go from side-blogging to full-time income, and why signing the lease on a physical studio was scarier (and more validating) than almost anything else I've done.

The theme this season is "my business pays for my life." Not kind of. Not on a good month. Actually, completely, no safety net.

Every week for the next 10 weeks, I'm going to feature a new guest from this season right here in your inbox. Different person, different path, same brutal honesty about what it actually takes to make your business cover your actual life. Consider this fair warning that your Wednesdays are about to get a personality.

Here's the thing though... a show like this isn't a nice-to-have side project anymore. It's infrastructure. The way people find you, trust you, and remember you is shifting hard toward owned, long-form work... the stuff that lets someone actually get to know you instead of catching a fifteen-second version of you between ads. If your search and discovery strategy still leans on hoping the algorithm feels generous today... it's time for a rethink.

Which is exactly why I want to make sure you didn't miss this: Sound Before Spotlight is now available for self-study.

If you caught last Saturday's email, you already know the live summer cohort wrapped. What you might not know is that everything from that cohort (the entire "figure out your show before you hit record" process) is now available on your own schedule, for half the live price.

This is the pre-production process. The part everyone skips because it's not as fun as buying a microphone. It's how you walk away with an actual concept, a format, and a plan instead of just... vibes and a recording app.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Get Sound Before Spotlight (self-study) for $297โ€‹

P.S. โ€” If you're only going to do one thing this week, go listen to Episode 1. I promise it's more useful than therapy and cheaper too (well... this week anyway ๐Ÿ˜œ).
