🎤 Human, Please: The Algorithm Has Entered the Chat

Lately, I’ve been hearing the same whispery fear in way too many business convos: “What if AI takes over my job? What if I don’t matter anymore?”

Spoiler alert: If you’re scared an app is going to erase your human relevance, what you’re actually facing is a crisis of executive discernment. And boo, we are officially at a turning point.

Last week in The CEO Summer Rebellion, I ran a workshop all about using ChatGPT as a co-pilot in your biz — like it’s on payroll, not some slop-bucket content generator. Because let’s be honest: a lot of the AI crap being peddled right now is just the same grift in a new wrapper. Remember those hideous swipe files and soul-sucking PDF templates from a decade ago? Yeah... same horse, different tech-colored saddle.

Later this summer, I’ll be joined by Rachel Allen, Tonya Kubo, and Solveig Petch in Dino Club to fully unpack how all these flimsy custom GPTs being sold to you (with zero strategic substance) are nothing but glorified snake oil. But the real kicker?

This week, YouTube announced that it’s tweaking its algorithm to boost human voices and de-rank AI ones. And wouldn’t you know it — the Bros With Mics™ are clutching their podcast pearls 👀 like the sky is falling. Meanwhile, I’m over here wondering how many fear-peddling “coaches” you’re following who’ve been sneakily flooding your nervous system with panic… so that when they dangle their shiny-but-empty GPTs in front of you, you feel just desperate enough to buy. 😬

And guess what? By using those bots, you're not actually building your business — you’re helping them train theirs. 🫠

(Insert scratchy record noise. Yeah, sit with that for a sec.)

And it’s not just YouTube making moves. Spotify recently made a big, self-congratulatory announcement about its podcast curation team — as if human curators are some groundbreaking innovation. (Cute. 🙄) Apple’s been doing that since day one, and it’s the only reason they’ve kept the top podcast app spot despite their user interface being a perpetual treasure hunt.

👉 What matters most here? Curation. Strategy. And your human essence.

So before you rush to market in a fear-fueled haze trying to beat some imaginary AI overlord to the punch… ask yourself: are you showing up with intention, or just panicking louder than the next person?
