🎙️ Remote Is Glitchy. Studios Are Sexy.
Hey Reader,
Ohhh hey. When your RSS host drops an episode dragging remote recording software for being buggy AF and you just so happen to be building a physical recording studio? That’s the sweet smell of validation, baby.
So there I was, stress-cleaning my house (you get it 🫧), headphones on, catching up on the Buzzsprout podcast... and boom. They’re breaking down how brutal it is for SaaS companies to keep remote podcast software working well. They’re not wrong. I’ve built proprietary tech before, and let me tell you: browser updates will absolutely wreck your day. The tech landscape shifts constantly, and just when things stabilize, Chrome or Safari decides to play God — pushing silent updates that break your carefully built workflows, crash your recording setups, or suddenly make features glitchy as hell overnight.
In 2023, people side-eyed me hard when I spent my own money traveling to record podcast guests in physical studios. But guess what? The sound was stellar, the production was next-level, and I got a front-row seat to what media-savvy business owners are craving. Not every episode will be recorded IRL (we don’t live in that world), but can we all raise our standards a little? YES. Can you get help for that without blowing your budget? Also YES.
In cities like LA and London, booking a studio is just... normal. It's not weird. It’s infrastructure for the creator economy. When I realized my new hometown in the Pacific Northwest didn’t have that option (and I could be the one to offer it) that's when my studio plans clicked into place.
And now? I’m deep in lease negotiations. Hopefully next week I’ll have keys in hand and can start building the dream. You’ll get the full tour, don’t worry. And if you’ve been eyeing my pre-production pilot program, we’re kicking that off soon with early bird rates for locals (and quality-boosting support for virtual folks too). Remote recording will always be an option, but it doesn’t have to sound like it.

🎟️ Scammers, Secrets & Netflix Dreams
I live for a scammer saga, but make it Desperate Housewives of the Internet edition. Who did what now?? Let me grab my teacup and popcorn. Honestly, part of my fascination comes from healing through financial abuse. These jaw-dropping stories make me feel a little less alone... and a little more vindicated. And this lottery scam?? Somebody call Netflix! Mama’s ready for the docuseries.
👾 Even Your Ego Falls for AI Tricks
In my channeled readings (peek yours below!), we talk a lot about unhooking from ego because that's when your deeper knowing gets to speak up. Your ego means well, but it'll believe some seriously dumb shit... including whatever a manipulative AI bot throws its way. Next time you're in ChatGPT? Park that ego in the backseat. Watch how your clarity (and prompts) improve.
💸 No, Skipping the Latte Won’t Buy a House
Caregiving for my aging parents has been surprisingly tender, but it also cracks open a lot of hard truths. Like how many advantages they had in their 40s that simply don’t exist for us now. Entrepreneurship isn’t just trendy, it’s a survival tool. The tax-funded systems they relied on? Crumbling. The house I bought in Texas? Cute but out in the boonies. I’ll never find a $200K ranch again... and I don't regret leaving. But let's stop pretending a side hustle is optional. This is the economy now.

🤯 Not all criticism is created equal.
Why you need emotional discernment in business...
This week on The School of Moxie Podcast, we’re talking about criticism, perception, and that weird pressure we all feel to “win the crowd.”
In Ted Lasso, the fans at the pub are loud, loyal, and judgmental as hell. Sound familiar? For entrepreneurs, your audience can feel like a constant performance review. But not every opinion deserves space in your strategy.
Join me for a deep dive into emotional discernment, public leadership, and staying grounded when the crowd starts shouting.

This little box might become my Pride Month cautionary tale box. 😂 I could think of worse things to do with this real estate on my newsletter! This article caught my eye this week and serves as a great reminder to think about who is being performative when they claim to mirror your values. Hard pass.
